Proposal Experience

Sydney, Australia 📍

(Hybrid, with access to Sydney Office)

Why Qwilr

Qwilr is proposal company built specifically for scaling sales teams. We help you create the perfect proposal instantly (using a combo of interactive design + rules + AI), get it accepted ASAP (with analytics + e-sign + payment) and automate the rest (sync to your CRM, create slack/teams notifications etc).

We’ve solve real customer problems, which has translated into 5k customers globally, multi-million dollar ARR, high NPS and low churn.

The Role

Every proposal a customer sends through Qwilr starts the same way: a seller has a deal, a pile of half-organised information about the buyer, and not enough time. Our job is to close the gap between "messy information about a deal" and "a proposal so good it wins" and to do it instantly.

You'll own the surface where that happens: the editor, our pricing & quoting tools, plus our contracts and e-sign. This is the core experience nearly every Qwilr customer touches on every deal. And you'll be doing it at the exact moment we're using AI to rebuild what "instant" means: turning CRM data, call transcripts and scattered context into a finished, on-brand, ready-to-send proposal, automatically.

AI is now one of our primary tools for solving our customers Job To Be Done - so we want someone comfortable dealing with all of the joys and pains of using AI in mission critical software.

This is a critical role as a leader on one of our most important product teams. You will report directly into our CEO and co-founder Mark - and work closely with the members of our Leadership Team.

What you'll own

  • The Strategy for your area. Working in collaboration with your EM and Designer, as well as with other leaders in the company, and drawing on qualitative and quantitative insights. You’ll be able to build the best plan for your team given the broader company strategy.
  • The core editing experience. The page editor, quote building, and e-signature/acceptance flows that customers rely on to close deals. You'll be responsible for making this feel effortless, trustworthy, and fast.
  • Smart Templates and AI-assisted proposal creation. Defining how messy inputs (CRM data, call transcripts, seller notes) get turned into logic, rules and content that produce a great proposal with minimal manual effort. This is our big bet for the future of the company.
  • The trust and adoption problem, not just the feature. E-signature and quoting only matter if customers actually use them and trust them over incumbents. You'll dig into why adoption stalls, not just what to build next.
  • Prioritisation calls that matter. Balancing "fix what's broken and embarrassing" against "build the ambitious AI-powered thing," with real judgement about sequencing & trade-offs, not just a backlog.
  • Cross-functional delivery with crisp comms. Working tightly with engineering and design day-to-day, and with sales, support and customers directly to validate direction and drive adoption. We value people who are excellent communicators.
  • Defining what "good" looks like. Success metrics for your area, and the discipline to track whether what you shipped actually moved them.

What you'll bring

  • A systems thinker who can hold both the messy, ambiguous "how might we" problem and the delivery detail at the same time, and who knows when to push velocity versus when to slow down and deliver a more considered, fleshed out product.
  • Strong track record as a PM in SaaS, ideally B2B, ideally somewhere the product had real complexity to untangle.
  • Sharp customer research instincts. You are comfortable running qual and quant research yourself, and turning it into a point of view engineering and design can actually act on, not a slide deck that gets filed away.
  • Real communication range. You can talk trade-offs with an engineer, objection handling with a salesperson, positioning with marketing, and vision with a founder, in each of their own language.
  • Taste. An eye for what makes software feel considered rather than merely functional. This matters more here than most places, because "design-perfect" is the whole point of the product.
  • You can build, not just spec. You're comfy working with AI tools to go from idea to working prototype yourself and fast.

✦ Bonus points

  • You've shipped an AI-native feature or product before
  • Experience with sales tech, CRMs, or anywhere quoting / contracts / payments intersect.
  • You've worked in a team small enough that "not my job" isn't something you've said.

Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, women and other folks in minority groups tend to only apply when they check every box. So if you think you have what it takes, but don't necessarily meet every single point above, please still get in touch. We'd love to have a chat and see if you could be a great fit. You can find more about diversity and inclusion at Qwilr here.

Who you'll work with

This role will report directly into our CEO, Mark.

You will work closely with your triad peers in your product team (your EM and your Designer) - as well as with Brooke our Principal PM.

As ever - you will only be successful if you can also work excellently with your team of engineers, and the leaders in the company across R&D and GTM.
