Finance Manager

As Qwilr's first finance hire, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our founders, investors and key stakeholders. This role is based in Sydney & you will report into one of our founders.

We are open to working with the right candidate on a part-time or a full time basis (with a minimum of 3 days per week).

We are very much a startup, so your role will be both operational, as well as strategic, having the ability to make and support decisions that impact the business. This entails:

• Working with our COO on the budgeting and re-forecasting for the business, including revenue, expense, cash, and forex requirements
• Creating financial modelling frameworks for various business models, revenue attribution and cost attribution that will help guide the business
• Own full responsibility of annual Australian Tax filing, BAS and IAS, as well as book keeping and payment of monthly invoices
• Owning monthly payroll for employees and overseas contractors, including calculation of sales commissions
• Owning the finance strategy, including the forecasting of cash / currency requirements and short term cash strategies
• Taking ownership of all financial reports, monthly financial updates and analysis provided to founders, and investors, as well as helping the founders prepare quarterly board reports
• Running and presenting regular management reports with operational information and commentary to assist business decisions
• Researching and preparing the business for relevant grants
• Getting involved with ad-hoc business projects and initiatives (we are a startup after all!)

About you:

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Ideally between 4 - 8 years of relevant experience, including at least a year in a commercial environment
• CA/CPA (or equivalent) qualified (we will consider candidates currently pursuing this)
• Experience with building and presenting management reports, budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and analysis
• Advanced skills in using Microsoft Excel
• Experience using Xero
• Bonus points for experience working in SaaS &/or with US entities
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
• Self motivated with a desire to learn
• Highly organised with the ability to work under pressure and within set deadlines
